On September 30, Encore Boston Harbor volunteers had the privilege of visiting Food for Free in Somerville to support their mission of enhancing nutrition security across our communities. Volunteer duties included packing grocery boxes filled with fresh produce and essential food staples for local pantries and community partners.

Thanks to incredible teamwork, Encore Boston Harbor employees successfully packed 7 pallets of food that were distributed that same week, helping shelters deliver nutritious meals more efficiently to those in need. The boxes included produce such as potatoes, cassava, apples, cabbage, strawberries, and other fresh items.

Food for Free is also one of Encore Boston Harbor's Feed the Funnel recipients each year, helping to quickly distribute the meals packed on property to those who need them most. Encore Boston Harbor is proud to contribute to such impactful work and grateful for the opportunity to make a difference.
