Impact Story: How Wynn Helped Hearts Alive Village “Continue Mission”
Wynn Resorts was honored on December 2 at the Hearts Alive Village, Tails of Hope Dinner, as the Corporate Partner of the Year. This award was the first of its kind given – reflecting what the support truly means – keeping veterans and their pets together through the hardest moments.
Through the Community Grant awarded by the Wynn Resorts Foundation to the Charlie Mike (Continue Mission) program, Heart’s Alive Village was able to aid veterans exactly when it was needed.
When Tyson, the Boxer’s human faced a health crisis, medication and safe boarding meant Tyson could stay healthy while his human got care.
When American Bulldog Chloe’s long, loving journey as a companion to her human came to its natural close, she received a peaceful and dignified farewell, honoring the bond that sustained her veteran for years.
Snoopy, the Beagle’s neuter surgery was a small step with a big impact, allowing his attention to stay focused on his veteran while protecting his health.
And Pekingese Buddy, ever resilient, received more than $1,500 in medical care and $206 in boarding, turning an emergency situation into a recovery – allowing him to remain steadfast as his veteran’s companion.
Because the Wynn Resorts Foundation chose to stand alongside Nevada’s veterans, Heart’s Alive Village can answer the phone seven days a week, coordinate care with VA partners, cover urgent veterinary needs, and provide temporary boarding so no veteran has to choose between healing and keeping a best friend.
Hearts Alive Village's mission is to nurture a compassionate society where pets are supported in their homes and on their journey to find a new home. Hearts Alive Village operates two low-cost vet clinics, an everyday adoption center, a cat café, a veterinary forensics program, veterans support programs, a pet food bank, and much more.
