The Wynn Resorts Foundation (WRF) and its members thank you for taking the time to share your vision for the community.  The Wynn Resorts Foundation Community Grant (WRFCG) was created to provide Wynn Resorts staff an avenue to maximize the impact of employee’s charitable donations in the community they have made their home.  WRFCG intends to fund innovative non-profits working to improve the livelihood of Clark County residents.

This Request for Proposal (RFP) is in search of 501(c)(3) non-profit agencies whose mission aligns with the Foundation’s Make a Difference Pillars (Reference Selection Criteria). Applications from nonprofit organizations outside of the jurisdictions in which we do business, will not be considered at this time. Proposals that will be selected are the ones who will illustrate a long lasting impact in the communities we live and operate in.

Eligible Applicants

Interested applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be designated a non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3).  Applicants must have this tax exempt status for a minimum of six months prior to the award date. A copy of the organization’s Internal Revenue Service letter documenting their Section 501(c)(3) status will be required prior to allocation of funds.
  • Must be located in jurisdictions in which the Company does business and conduct direct programming services to participants within those communities.
  • Provide the following documents:
    • Section 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Letter
    • Signed and Dated W9
    • Most recent Form 990
    • Board Membership List which includes names and affiliations
    • Certificate of Good Standing and Certificate of Solicitation (Massachusetts organizations only)

Application Details

Eligible organizations that meet all the requirements set by The WRF may apply.  Interested entities can request a maximum grant amount of $10,000.

All applications must be submitted online for consideration. Paper applications will not be accepted.

Applications will be accepted from the posted date of the RFP until the application deadline TBD.

Funded organizations must be aware that all proposed activities must occur within 12-months from the date the award money is received.

The WRF reserves the right to reduce or increase the requested amount. Funding determinations will be completed through an internal process. (See selection Criteria and Selection Process for further details)

Selection Criteria

Grant applications must meet a minimum of one of the focus areas of the Wynn Employee Foundation "Make a Difference Pillars." 

  • Education: Innovation in Education, Workforce Preparedness, Positive Youth Development
  • Vibrant Communities: Community Programs, Neighborhood Development, Environmental Preservation
  • Cultural Enrichment:  The Arts, Civic Partnerships, Engaged Citizenship

This Grant Will Not Fund:

    • Multi-year commitments
    • Grants to individuals
    • Capital campaigns, building construction and equipment
    • Grants for medical research, treatment projects, and disease-specific associations
    • Grants to governmental agencies
    • Grants to faith-based or religious organizations that proselytize
    • Grants for one-time events, conferences, festivals, concerts, workshops, or summer camps
    • Grants for research, film projects, media, advertising and publications
    • Advertising, film or video project
    • Athletic sponsorships (teams/events)
    • Capital campaigns and endowments (defined as any plans to raise funds for a significant purchase or expense, such as new construction, major renovations or to help fund normal budgetary items)
    • Nationally-sponsored organizations: American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, Children's Miracle Network and United Way
    • Contests or pageants
    • Fundraising events (walks, races, tournaments, dinners etc.)
    • In-kind donation requests, including requests for gift cards
    • Memberships, including association/chamber memberships
    • Organizations that deny service, membership or other involvement on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, veteran or disability status
    • Organizations or programs that do not benefit the communities within the jurisdictions in which we do business
    • Organizations whose programming or policies may position the Wynn Resorts and the Wynn Employee Foundation in a negative light
    • Political causes, candidates, organizations or campaigns
    • Projects that send products or people to foreign countries or on domestic travel
    • Registration fees
    • Requests made on behalf of another organization or by an unauthorized representative of the recipient organization
    • Request made solely to benefit one person or family
    • Research
    • Salaries, stipends, tips and rewards
    • Scholarships (tuition, room, board, other expenses for college/university/vocational school attendance)
    • Third-party giving, including funds that are re-allocated to fiscally sponsored organizations
    • Tickets for contests, raffles or any other activity with prizes

Application Writing Instructions

Please consider the following suggestions when preparing the application:

  • Respond to all questions in the order provided.
  • Ensure budget figures are mathematically correct and the justification is clear and descriptive.
  • Do not use jargon specific to your agency or program.
  • Do not assume the objective reviewer is familiar with your organization.
  • Avoid acronyms or clearly describe them when used for the first time.
  • Be aware of word limits and formatting.
  • Link together sections of the application to create a broad picture of the program you wish to implement.

Selection Process

The evaluation process will be conducted by the Employee Advisory Council (EAC) a committee composed of Wynn employees. The EAC will evaluate all proposals that meet RFP requirements. After this process has been completed, an external committee composed of community partners will review the selected proposals. The selected proposals will be presented to the Wynn Resorts Foundation Board of Directors for final approval.

Selected recipients may be asked to complete an in-person presentation to a committee formed by all the reviewing participants of the process.

Notification Process

Selected recipients will receive written notification of award and further instruction on how to proceed.  Agencies who are selected must respond to the notification of approval within 48 business hours. Failure to do so may result in withdrawal of approval.

Additional Request

Wynn Resorts and its affiliates will conduct a compliance investigation on the organization and its key executives that apply for funding through the Wynn Resorts Foundation.  The investigation will include but is not limited to proper licensing, IRS tax exempt status and negative information.
