Masked to Help
Nathan Wood, a Status Coordinator for the Wynn Las Vegas Front Desk team is passionate about giving back to the community. A few months back, while Australia was being ravaged by wildfires and many animals were without refuge, Nathan found a way to help. He sewed 50 pouches for orphaned marsupials and mailed them to help in the conservation efforts.
With the temporary closure of Wynn Las Vegas in light of COVID-19, Nathan’s determination to help the community did not falter. He heard that a private Facebook group was sewing hospital masks to help with the shortage in Las Vegas and Nathan did not hesitate to answer the call! Working out of his garage and with the help of his assistant, Roger the Cat, Nathan had a goal to sew at least 150 masks.
Friends and family members donated fabric, thread and elastic – allowing Nathan to sew 200 masks in just 8 days! These masks have been supplied to local hospitals, his friends and family who donated supplies, and to his Veterinarian’s office to ensure Roger’s furry friends and Veterinarian Hospital staff can safely social distance.
Thank you, Nathan, for sharing your talent with the community!
