During the month of April, the City of Las Vegas opened the Isolation and Quarantine (ISO-Q) Complex, a tented facility at Cashman Field that has the capacity to support up to 500 homeless individuals who need to self-isolate or quarantine due to COVID-19.

With the opening of the Cashman ISO-Q Complex, an urgent call was sent for supplies needed for the isolation/quarantine facility. Items such as pillows, cot linens, hygiene kits, feminine hygiene products, and grab-n-go breakfast items such as granola, yogurt and fruit were requested. The Wynn Community Relations team immediately thought of Project Dot, a nonprofit partner and community grant recipient that is focused on helping low-income and homeless avoid period poverty. Founded by two outstanding Las Vegas high schoolers who wanted to make a difference, Project Dot provides free kits that include monthly supplies of feminine hygiene products to those in need

When the Community Relations team dialed Carolyn Wheeler, Director of Project Dot, she immediately jumped to action to provide the requested feminine hygiene products. Project Dot delivered 100 kits that included sanitary napkins, a hair tie, nail file and a positive message to the Cashman ISO-Q Complex.

In the time that the State of Nevada has been under Stay at Home orders, Project Dot has been hard at work keeping our community partners stocked with feminine hygiene kits. In addition, their organization has also expanded distribution to many of the nonprofits that have been providing food to those who may have been laid-off due to business closures. In fact, Project Dot has delivered more than 1000 kits in the last month to the Courtyard, NPHY, The Just One Project, SHARE Village, Spread the Word NV and Communities In Schools of Nevada!
